Types of Agricultural Machinery
Some of the types of agricultural machinery in India used in modern farming that mentioned below :
Tractor
Everyone associates a tractor with farming, whether it's used for any other purpose. All around the world, the tractor is one of the basic Agricultural Machinery in India and capable of running on farms and roads for decades. Tractors have replaced bullock carts; normally, tractors don't do anything.
Farming equipment is attached to it ( Rotary tiller, cultivator, plow, Roto seed drill ). These things need the power to operate for long hours. After using in farms, tractors transport waste over or raw materials by attaching a Trailer.
There are three types of tractors: Wheel tractor, Crawler Tractor, and Power Tiller.
Wheel tractors are the most popular ones, the ones you see in India.
Crawler tractors, as the name goes, Crawl on the field; it doesn't have tires; it has metal chains and is used for mining.
Power tiller is only used for cultivation and tillage and has its blades, making farming very smooth and easy.
Plough
From the early history of farming, the plow is one of the essential farming processes. Plough gets attached to the tractor, and its work is to dig down. It drills in the soil so that seeds can plant in the soil.
Field Cultivator
This agricultural machinery in India operates to cultivate the soil. Its sharp blades crush the weeds to its root so that the photosynthesis process cannot happen. After this, the soil gets smoother and clean for planting. Cultivators make dead rock soil so that water and nutrients get easy passage.
Sprayer
It is extensive backpack-like equipment used to spray for fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides. Also, it is sprayed on farms so that birds or any insect doesn't eat any crop or plant. Furthermore, a sprayer is essential for the excellent performance of the plant. It's a great weed killer.
Planter
Planter is equipment whose job is to drill seeds into a field. It's attached to the back of the tractor and perfectly lays the seed. Planters are large, and their size varies from 1 row to 54 rows.
Planters are the ones that lay big seeds into the field, whereas the ones which lay tiny seeds identify as seed drills. The process of Planters is very delicate and needs to be handle with utmost care.
Baler
A piece of Agricultural machinery works to compress the slashed crop like (cotton, flax, hay) and collect them into compact bales. So, that handling is easy, and there should be no difficulty storing and transporting them.
Machinery used for Soil Cultivation
The machinery used for soil cultivation is cultivator, cultipacker, plow, rotary tiller, strip-till, harrows, etc. All this machinery is necessary for cultivation.
Cultivator
Before planting the weeds and losing the soil after the crop has grown, farmers used cultivator equipment for stirring and pulverizing the soil. It is functioned by tractor and blends the soil generally in depth. For gardening purposes, gardeners also used these types of smaller machines.
Cultipacker
This agriculture machinery removes air pockets, presses down tiny stones, crushes dirty blocks, forming smooth and firm seedbeds. Also, it is a rigid roller; we can also signify them with a field roller or land roller.
Rotary tiller
Rotary tiller also signifies rotavator, rotary plow, rotary hoe, and power tiller. It smashed up the intricate level of the soil and assembled the level of sowing. It is essential to remove the crop residues from the field and compose the soil for new crops.
Strip-till
It is a conservation system that operates for the least tillage. This tillage used with special tools makes many trips. It relies upon the strip-till implement and field circumstances.
Moreover, its strip is generally eight to ten inches wide in each row.
Harrows
This equipment fertilizes the surface of the soil. It's for more profound cultivation, and it shows different effects on plows—harrowing used for taking out on field rough and left by plowing. The main reason for harrowing is to break the lumps of soil and supply a more refined finish to make good soil suitable for planting.
Conclusion
Agricultural machinery is helping farmers and making farming less nerve-racking. Moreover, these types of machinery might be expensive, but the extraction from them payback is enormous.
